Phil Bunt LBIPP
Phil
was born and brought up in Newquay and has been photographing professionally
since 1998.
He undertook a City and Guilds course in black and white photography in 1999 and subsequently developed a wide range of photographic experience in the wedding and studio environment as well as becoming one of mid-Cornwall's most recognised names in press and PR work.
In 2009 Phil was named Press and PR Photographer of the year by the BIPP Western Region and, a year later, received the Wedding Photographer of the Year award from that same professional body. He has also received a number of awards of merit over the years as well.
"It has been a real honour to be recognised for two different disciplines which complement each other so much" he said. "Much of the style I have developed in how I photograph weddings is down to the freelance press work I still undertake. “It does give you a feel for what makes, not just a great shot, but inspires and entertains too.”
Carolyn Oakley BA (Hons) ABIPP
Carolyn
was born in North Wales and moved to Cornwall fourteen years ago where, after
attaining an HND in photography and digital imaging then graduated in
photography at Falmouth College of Art, and was incorporated as an associate
member of the BIPP.
She now lives in Newquay with her two teenage daughters and enjoys juggling the busy schedule of studio and wedding work with her passion for arts and theatre.
"It's great to meet so many lovely people in the showroom and studio and it's always a fabulous experience being a special part of wedding celebrations - it really is a privilege to be invited to be the one to capture the images of the day which are so important to everyone." said Carolyn.
Carolyn's work has been recognised by the British Institute of Professional Photographers where she is an associate member and in 2008 she won the prestigious Western Region Portrait Photographer of the Year award and achieved an Award of Merit in the Press and PR section.
"My approach to capturing an image is my ability to put people at ease" says Carolyn. "Treating them with respect, being patient and making them feel special so that they can relax and have fun!"
Carolyn and Phil teamed up professionally after they developed a mutual respect and appreciation for each others work. Their decision to concentrate on excellence in wedding and portrait photography, sits alongside their continuing to provide a media/press, events and affiliates service through Cornwall-Photos.com.
