When you look across the coastline of Newquay it is the Towan headland which is most prominent and projects the town's famous Atlantic Hotel in a surreal light as the sun is setting. The open grassy space looking towards the Pentire headland is a favourite place for shots of the bride and groom but, be warned, it's a fair old breeze which comes in off the Atlantic Ocean at this point sometimes. In fairness, this can make for some great shots and there are plenty of more sheltered locations at the hotel where group shots can be taken. For the more adventurous 100 metres down the road is the 14th century Huer's Hut which overlooks the town's beaches and affords views up to as far as Trevose Head lighthouse near Padstow.

If you are planning to climb up onto the roof of the Huer's Hut make sure you both bring some appropriate footwear! The hotel itself can host the largest and smallest of groups. Sara and James had a special few days there with their families which culminated in an intimate reception with a couple of dozen guests and a string quartet playing in the background. Whereas, local teacher Laura married James at St Columb Minor Church and brought a far larger gathering to the Atlantic Hotel for the wedding breakfast and reception. It's a great place to photograph a wedding and really has the 'feel' of Newquay about.
