The village church in Gulval is of the 12th century with some additions having taken place over the following years. In 1440 the tower was built and the stone lych gate was added in 1897. The building nestles amongst greenery on a sloping hill which is accessed at the top or bottom - at the top, the entrance is right opposite the village pub - quite handy for a swift half for the groom prior to the big event! Both internally and externally the church is exceptionally picturesque and there are great photo locations outside with ample room for big groups with long imposing steps leading up towards the church.
